Ep 64. Burnout Prevention: How Unhealed Childhood Trauma Leads To Exhaustion

Season #2

Childhood trauma happens in various circumstances. Trauma is defined as an emotional response to a distressing event. It can be a single, intense experience such as an accident, assault or natural disaster. Or it can be ongoing, such as exposure to violence, neglect or abuse. After experiencing trauma, our brain can't make sense of what happened, so it just shuts down. For a long time, you can live without understanding why you are always so exhausted. You may be working hard all day and then collapse into bed at night. Unhealed trauma leads to burnout, and if we want to prevent burnout in our lives, we need to start healing our trauma. Trauma isn't just something that happens to soldiers who come back from war or people who have been through a terrible car accident. Trauma is everywhere, and After suffering burnout in her Director of Nursing position and healing her trauma, Tanya's passion turned to mental health and trauma. Now, she works as a trauma wellness coach and helps others heal trauma, manage mental health and build resiliency toolkits.
